Hello all,

I just felt like i need to put something up here so that my blog does not go into idle again! This is going to serve as my therapy session for the past month or so!! dont get me wrong I don see a shrink or anything, i just like to vent once in a while.

So why do you D choose never to clean up where we call our abode, you just choose to ignore it or do you feel it is ur right??

I have so many things on my mind and i still get back and have to deal with that mess,that gbish is not cool, I over look it because of God's word. God is Love and I dont want to make the same mistake twice in my life. God help me.

So why do you Kay, never want to hear anything that is against your thought process, You take it in at that moment and bring it up later as a form of defense mechanism against someone that wants the best for you?? I guess as you have learnt from your past mistakes you will continue to learn by mistakes unless you reconfigure yourself to be open minded and ask God to give you discerning spirit to know what to follow and what not to follow? God gave us two ears and one mouth for obvious reasons. nuff said.

So I wish we had a better relationship while we were on our way to this stage in our various lives but i guess that is something we have to learn to acknowledge and live with for the rest of our lives. Now I wonder if what she has bin telling me is the truth or maybe she i just a liar. I wish you the best and I hope you have a great life ahead. God knows i tried my best.

I know God was trying to teach me something by making me not pass that test, 18 points away and now i have to look for half of 100 dozens to take it again.

What life is all about! one advice I have for you that is reading this is that you should set your mind to having a FOREVER MIND. details in my next post. Peace.

Life as I know it!!

Life as i know it:
I have not been on here for a minute, I have just being very occupied with comepleting my Master's program, Preparing and going through with my sister's wedding and also preparing and taking my NBCOT Occupational therapy board examination. It has been a long 2 months and some weeks I must say.
The end of my School program was a success and I must give all glory to Almighty God for the wisdom, knowledge and understanding he gave me through the two years I was in grad school for, thank you Lord.

My sister's wedding was also a great one, God made it successful, It was not an extravagant wedding but it was Successful. People came from all over the world had fun, the couple had fun, everything went as planned, people were there very late!! If not that what else constitutes a successfull ceremony?? It was great!! I miss her alot tho *sobs*

After the wedding, I started preparing for my board exam, I started getting nervous when i Was not getting very high on my practice exam annd then i talked to some of my class mates and they said they did not all pass the practice exams but they passed the Board itself, that relieved me a little but did not take off the stress. But with prayers and supplications I was not too stressed out towards the end of the prep period and during the exam. I thank God for his wisdom and grace.

Now to the next step, looking for a job, I pray God grants me the job that will not take me away from serving him. Amen.

A Basic Overview
Occupational therapy (OT) is the 9th least stressful job in the U. S. A. According to a recent “U.S. News and World Report.” Occupational therapists work with disabled people to help them be more independent in daily life. Disabilities can be due to stroke or other medical condition, as well as congenital.
Patience and superior interpersonal skills are essential qualities of an occupational therapist. Many times clients will balk at doing therapy exercises at home (or even during therapy). They may become frustrated and angry that recovery is not coming as fast as they had hoped. This is where the OT must listen to and encourage the patient along the road to recovery.
Necessary Education
To work as an OT, an individual must have completed an accredited master’s program including a minimum of 24 hours of field work. After coursework is completed, the national licensing exam must be taken by all OTs wanting to practice. Successfully passing the exam gives the OT the right to add “Occupational Therapist Registered” or OTR after his or her name and signals to future employers and patients that the occupational therapist understands and is able to apply knowledge to the people requiring therapy.
Bachelor’s degrees are usually held in the sciences, liberal arts or social sciences, such as anthropology or psychology. Master’s degree classes include behavioral science, physical and life science, along with learning the application of the skills being learned.
At the present moment, there are no too many occupational therapy programs at the master’s level and even fewer at the doctoral level. The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) has approved just 150 masters and combined bachelor/master’s degree programs and only four doctoral programs…
The top OT programs in the United States, according to “US News and World Report” are, from one to five: Boston College – Sargent, Washington University – St. Louis, USC University of Illinois – Chicago, Tufts – Boston, University of Kansas Medical Center.
Predicted Job Growth 2008-2018
Ranked in the top 50 best careers of 2010 by “U.S. News and World Report, ” occupational therapy as a field is projected to grow much faster than average.
A significant increase in job growth, 26%, is projected between 2008-2018. Just 105,000 OTs were working in 2008. In 2018, 131,300 OTs are expected to be working.
Average Earnings
The predominant location for occupational therapists to work is in hospitals. Other settings include schools, home health care services, self-employed in private practice, nursing homes and mental health/addiction facilities.
The median salary in 2008 for an OT was $67,780 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Top paid OTs made over $98,000 and the most poorly paid OTs made less than $42,000 a year.
Home health care services pays therapists well with a median salary of $74,510 every year. Nursing homes pay OTs less well at $72,790. School districts pay occupational therapist even less at $60,020 a year. In the future the occupational therapy jobs will be most abundant and will likely pay the best are jobs working with the elderly.
With the ever-increasing focus on health and medicine, occupational therapy jobs and travel nurse jobs are available around the world for qualified professionals.

Awake, in the middle of the night thinking of life and its ups and downs, should i pray? should i go back to sleep, should i call someone and rant, should i go eat icecream??

why are they showing stuff on T.V about "can humans find happiness". Can i find happiness now without being rich? can i find hapiness in my relationships? when I am rich where will i look for more hapiness?
How do we really define hapiness? how do u know u have achived hapiness? What is happiness??

I jjust need to breakdown and cry, express myself to someone, but who will i trust? deep tots.

hello out there!!

How is every one doing? i have been away for a long time because of rotations, it is kinda tough i must say, it is challenging, as well educative. I have learnt a lot from my rotation site, even tho my supervisor and I were having a rough relationship at first. now it has gottten better, now when i look back at what was causing it, I realize that it was 2 people's ego clashing together, hers was that she wanted to boss me around and tell me what to do and not to do (which would have been right if she did not put so much authority into it and made it a learning and correction atmosphere), my ego was just pride, useless pride, in which I am still praying to God to help me subdue. Thank God for his mercies.
Ok, July is looking like an ugly month for me in the sense that i have so many things due in such little time, arrggghh, i know i will feel so much better after the month is over, but for now i will just need to suck it up and face my giants.

I have been struggling a lot and i mean a lot with my christian life, i have been there i know what God can do for me, but now getting back to where i used to be has bin a very veryy tough ride. I struggle with a lot of things, try to fight it but just find my self falling back to where I was before. there are many issues i need to pray about ask God for directions, but sometimes i feel like i am not worthy enough for him to listen to me. God help me.

I have lost touch with keeping up with naija entertainment news, blogs and all things naija, well still up to date with some music, thanks to notjustOk, but for the rest, i just dont have the time. i feel saddened by this, but hey life goes on.

I will try to continue to update but if not, will be back sometime soon. Peace.

Dagrin and my in

ok as we all know, Nigerian music industry was hit on the 22nd of april by the sad news of the death of Dapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, aka Da Grin. He was 23 years old and had survived an accident that occured eight days earlier. he was admitted to the intensive care unit of Lagos university Teaching Hospital while in coma, but gradually came out of it and became vocal. People prayed for him and hoped he would get better but unfortunately he did not survive.

According to people around him his last words were "tell my fans i love them" ..DEEP STUFFS

Anyways people that rescued him from the site of the accident said that alcohol might have been a major factor left out of the story told to the general public. It was believed that Dagrin was drunk and also that the Maxima in which he was the driver had a bottle of alcohol in it when the crash happened. Sad sad.

I was reallly hurt by the story of his death and i was begining to ask God why he let it happen, that why did He let Travis baker survive a plane crash, let curtis Jackson survive 9 gun shots and not let this young man survive...but after i heard of the alcohol side of the story, i am now neutral and remorseful for the questions i have asked. God please forgive me.

I feel there is not enough campaign in Nigeria about the dangers of drunk driving, they need to campaign more about the dangers, spread the word, discourage it and reduce the amount of youth we loose each year to the demon called alcohol.

I know alcohol can be addictive and makes you free from worries, but is only for a while, it impairs ur judgement, makes u do stupid things and detroys your body organs, then if i may ask what is the benefit?? I wont say i have not drank before but i stopped when i was like 17, because of laws and because God gave me the wisdom to know that is is not good.

I think this incident should be an avenue for the alchohol companies in Nigeria to come together as one and agree on something and reduce the amount of youths we loose to alchohol.

Agree with the family, pay an amount use his story as a lesson and help the youths, it will go a long way, my two cents.

Rotation and Graduation

well well, good day to all of you my Blog family, i know i have been out of touch for a very long time and i have not been updating my blog, but i must say it is my fault, i apologise. I have not stretched myself enough on my capabilities and potentials, and from now i am determined to stretch myself to the limits no matter how tough or inconviniencing it might be to me, i will do it. One thing I read that made me think so was "most old people only regret what they did not do". so that means almost everything they engaged in, did not cause any regrets for them.. i will enagage myself in more and more things now so i dont or at least minimally have regrets when i am older!! If you have being thinking along this line too, one book i would advice you to read is "BE ALL YOU CAN BE, BY JOHN C. MAXWELL" an excellent motivational book, I am not done reading it but i know i will finish it soon, my goal, my determination.

My clinicals for my school is composed of 2 twelve weeks rotations and i am in the 12th week of the first one and i must say it is challenging, i love the fact that most of the job entails thinking on the spot and analyzing each and every of our daily activities in bits and peices...love my job i must say. OK so my rotations have been good and i have seen so many people, worked with so many people, learnt so many things and i have been exposed to so many diagnoses and surgeries.

Most of the people i work with are older people from like age 21 to 97, the youngest i have ever worked with was 9 yrs old and she was in the hospital because she got burnt while trying to prepare french fries, sad ini't but hey she did not die and did not get life threatining burns, so thank God for that.

I have lost some of the patients that i have worked with, when i say lost, as in they died. one of the ones that touched me the most was one old lady that was like 94 or so and she was admitted to the ICU, started getting better and then i started working with her, she was very weak and fraile. I enjoyed working with her because she always smiled and at one point we danced together with our hands while she was seated tho, i enjoyed that session but sad enough she died the next day. so many other stories, i dont have the heart to share.

So my graduation is next week, WHOOOO HOOOO!!!
i am so looking forward to it, i am so excited, it is not even funny. Just some random facts about this graduation.
1: my first ever graduation since high school graduation in 2002
2: my degree is a Masters
3: i am the only boy finishing from the program in the whole state.
4: i love my career choice!!!
5: Most of all, I am totally thankful to God for his mercies, peace and favour he constantly bestows on me. THANK YOU LORD!!

So i know that was a long piece but i wish i was a constant blogger so it wont be this long, *sigh* but from now on, i will try my best. *fingers crossed*

Hello blog world,
How are you all and how is life with y'all in general, as for me God has being Good to me and I have being looking up to His face to continue to guide me. Amen
I have started counting down to my first ever college graduation, I am so excited, you have no idea, I am like out of space excited!!!!
Well as part of my program I have to do some clinicals which we call Level II fieldworks, I have to do 2 - 3 months in different settings.
The first one which I started last week monday, is being done in an acute care setting, for those that don't know,
" an acute care setting is a branch of tertiary health-care where necessary treatment of a disease for only a short period of time in which a patient is treated for a brief but severe episode of illness. Many hospitals are acute care facilities with the goal of discharging the patient as soon as the patient is deemed healthy and stable, with appropriate discharge instructions."

so as Occipational Therapist's we see them after maybe surgery, intensive care units treatments or when they come out of comas, we plan and work with them to make them get back to their prior level of ADL functioning and help them plan and implement their move for discharge to their homes or other healthcare facilities, because we see most of them between 3 to 11 days. short and brief if you ask me. I am loving it and looking forward to learning something new daily..

Ok so last week i met the cutest couple ever, the guy came into the hospital for a hip replacement surgery because his hip could not carry his weight anymore.( i know Obesity and this country) so we were to see him and educate him on precautions to consider while his healing process is going on, and he and his wife were both in love and smilling. they were so cute together, the thing that facinated me about them was that they were both deaf and they were married and still able to communicate their love through sign language, she even cried the first time he walked.....*sigh* true love. we as OTs communicated with them with the help of an interpreter.

this is just to say Love has no boundaries Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres and to add to that it has no language.

she knew it would not work out, she knew she had a boyfriend, she pretended, lied, cheated on her Boyfriend, faked and most of all showed herself as a figure of dishonor to me, now she just disgusts me.
Why would you in the first place deceieve all of us, lie to your parents, your aunties, uncles cousin (which i believe knows the truth), dang the list is too long.
I was really going to see if we could make it work out for both of us again and i knew it was trust that i was lacking for you, i still like you, well almost everything about you, just trust because you deceived me in the past. i was trying to see how we can make it work, talked to you and you even promised, but u had a different motive, you never dissapoint sha.
I feel like calling you very many names and insults but i never feel great after i insult someone and i know you will be someone's wife and some kids' mother someday. so I will just preserve the tiny little dignity i perceive you have left and try not to see you as a slut on this day and on your wedding day but see you as someone's daughter and wife.
Make sure you invite me for that day and i will surely come by God's grace. Now that you have gone back to him, wat do you really want from me?? travel? money? wat is it? no clue but i know one day i will find out. this is not a bitter post i just have one regret, i should have never listened to your plea and just kept you as a friend...I will still continue to call you ENIGMA anyday.

Today is a new day, i was kinda busy through the whole day, watching movies and trying to chillax small. ok i am not on Facebook but i am on Twitter, and i go tru some peoples' statuses and i cannot help but crack up all the time. here are some of them.

hello blog world, how has everyone been...i know i have being out for a very looooooooooong time, i am soo sorry, but if we break it down really it is not my fault i have being mad busy with school, travelling, finding myself, increasing my knowledge of some things, looking for a spouse and so on.

Ok i am mad excited this week is the last week of classes for me, at least for now, someone shout AMEN.. i am toooo excited, i ask myself so many questions,

how does it feel to graduate
when i get my awards what will i say, will i tell them i am Nigerian?? abi make i just keep queit when that mumu muttalab don spoil ground so.
will i be too excited to celebrate??
then is it back to the work force again now??

for those of you that dont know i am working on my Masters in Health Sciences (OT) and i can say nothing but I LOVE IT!!! cant wait to be practical with it.

Travelling!!

Ok last year God blessed me so much that i cannot recount my blessings, He has being so good to me, i went to places i did not think i would reach even without working and getting a paycheck, Amazing init??

even during all my visits to all those cities, except for one, i did not have to pay for accomodation AT ALL, is that not favour, THANK GOD. i will not list all the places i went to but one place i enjoyed the most and would go back in a heartbeat if i had the chance was the great land of Nigeria, nna that city called Lagos is a place to be anytime.

the city although still struggling with electricity and crime and indisciplined people, it is a great place to be.

ok people went clubbing EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, is that not insane??? yeap they did it, popping bottles like it was coke, one pplace i went to that i enjoyed was KOKOLOUNGE which from the name you will know belongs to DBANJ, it is not a large place but it is on point, comedy night every wednesday and so many other things, lovely place.

ok the governor Raji Fashola, is doing good, i went from Ikorodu to festac to visit someone and back under 3 hours even with staying over at the person's house for over 30 mins, i used to know that road and if u had to do anything after Oshodi, u had to dedicate the whole day to the trip but now, see how fast it went, really impressed me.

there were traffic lights in places that seemed important to have them, but the problem with them was that when there was power failure they did not work, and that meant traffic everwhere because of impatient people.

ok one thing that got on my last nerve was customer service in public places and banks most especially, chei, they have terrible customer service in banks, especially a big bank,, which i will not mention their names. I went in to take out some money and they weree treating me like i was coming in to beg for money or something, i was so pissed off GAA LEE, not to talk of other customers, who do not even give u privacy space when u are banking, they are all up in your space and all up on your behind, i felt like a rape victim, harrased and treated bad on top my own money (no offence to rape victims).

ok so i came back to the airport people harrasing me because of that MUMU MUTTALAB, why would u want to blow up yourself with so much faaji (parry life) in lagos and abuja, that was a foolish decision, at least if u feel like being wasted go there and spend ur papa money. Nonsense and Ingredients.

ok so i came back to real life and now school is almost over, cant wait, just cant, i remember when i got in and now i am almost out??? Thank you Lord. i will try my best ot continue to update sha, hope every one is doing great thos, have a blessed week ahead.

This post is being typed at 2 :53 in the morning because i just came back from a party that i really enjoyed. the party was to celebrate one of my friend's who added one year to his age. he had a lot of people over there and it was just dancing galore.

It is funny how you can be a DJ with just computer and internet, lol with things like Youtube, Gidilounge, pandora, it is very easy to just mixx sounds from the pc and connect it to a high amp speaker.. Yours truly was the DJ tonight, and i must say it was fun, i was just mixxing away, i tried but i know i am not as good as a prof Dj would have played...loved the experience tho.

Ok, i have been trying to talk to this babe for a while but it seems she is playing hard to get and lets see how this game would end. i know there is no perfect relationship but why dont you just give it a chance, i guess you are missing out on this Dark, hot chocolate called 9ja's OT.

so i have being hitting the gym a lot lately and i am loving what i am seeing, i just need a little more abs workout and i think i would be very content with every every.
changing your diet and lifting weights, i tell you are not the easiest thing to do, but i am struggling through it, i now see why we have proud and arrogant models and actors, because for you to put in all that time in the gym and have the result u want, you will always have the urge to lift your head up and say "this is all me, i did this". I pray by the grace of God i never become arrogant and proud would never be a word that people would use to describe me. Amen.

So let me go to bed, i need to sleep and still have assignments to work on that are due this week. have a nice day people.

This week has been very good as it flew by very quickly, we had a clinical rotations week in school and i was posted to a school BOE, which composed of various schools. so me and the person i was attached to had to drive around a lot in order to see various students in their educative environs, it was different as i got to see very maany pediatric diagnosis and worked with them

My school is going on great and i am looking forward to graduation, i just cant wait for the graduation season to begin and God should put my name on my school's list, i am looking forward to it a lot. this is my last full semester in Grad school and excited is not the word to describe it..God help me.

sometimes i want to talk about many things on this blog as they happen to me but either i am away from a computer or i am just too lazy to get on the PC and type away and by the time i am ready i have forgotten half or all of it.

there are so many things in life that young people want to talk about but either we are too shy to talk about it or we dont have someone to talk about it to (me).
I was doing my blog roll call (which i have not done in a loooooong time) and i came across numerous blogs of people that just spit their minds like they think, and i think that is just awesome, when u have an avenue to speak your mind and get other people's opinion while still keeping your sanity and not paying some therapist 100 bucks an hour to hear you cry.....reminds me of one George Lopez episodes, i watched where he went to visit a therapist and when he left the therapist's office, the therapist needed a therapist himself......lol

i came across some posts that were about life's struggles, sexual struggles (tell me about it), relationships, and so many.
I think i would be blogging more and opening my mind more through this avenue.....just need dedication. and somebody pray for me if you care.

This man built a house, raised 2 graduates selling chewing sticks

It sounds incredible that somebody could build a house and train children up to the university level, selling common chewing stick {pako}. But, this is true of a popular chewing stick seller in Akure ,Ondo State, Peter Ngwu, who has been in the business for over 30 years.

Ngwu, 63, said despite meagre returns, he has trained two of his children to university level.The Ebonyi State- born father of five children said in an interview with Daily Sun that contrary to the view that whoever was dealing in his kind of business was a wretched man, he has been in the business for over three decades and made a success of it.

Baba pako as he is popularly called by his teeming customers said he had built his own house and trained his children to university level adding that : “I am still training the remaining three, I give glory to God”On how he became a chewing stick seller, Ngwu said he was a successful business man dealing in kitchen utensils with a store at Arakale area. “I was doing fine in the business until I was robbed by an armed robbery syndicate at upper Uwenka in Onitsha many years back, Baba pako said, saying that the robbers carted away all his money meant to purchase goods to replenish his store at gun point in Onitsha.

The development ruined him financially.He was jobless for a long time, before a friend came to introduce the chewing stick business to him. “When he mentioned the business, I felt bad and I thought in my mind that how come somebody who was dealing in kitchen utensils in a big form would suddenly become a chewing stick seller. But, when there was no hope of getting money to continue the business, I didn’t have option than to accept the offer”He said his friend gave him some money to start the business and after sometime the business gradually boomed. Ngwu said at a stage he used to make between N700 and N1000 profit per day.

Baba pako gets his bulk supplies from Calabar for both whole and retail sales in Akure.He explained this : “It is very scarce to get the sticks here in Ondo State, but in Calabar, they plant them in large quantities, because they take it as a big time business, unlike in Ondo State.Ngwu advised jobless youths to embark on cottage business that could keep them busy rather than engaging on unwholesome acts capable of ruining their lives.

I just posted this story to show that u can become successful in wateva u pray and put your mind to. nothing is a ridiculous job or career.

Hello people,

sorry i have been MIA, i do not have an excuse but i can say i was just very busy with school and all. I am enjoying school a lot as i learn new things everyday and it is preparing me for my long term goals. God has betowed his favour on me and i am planning for a big trip which i pray i can accomplish, by the grace of God.
this are some notes i have gather from a popular journalist. enjoy and have a great week.

"6 Ms of Money".

The first and perhaps the most important "M" is called the mastery of Money Belief System.
This indicates an ingrained mind-set acquired from different sources which can prevent people from becoming wealthy. It is only by destroying all the limiting belief systems that real wealth can start to manifest. You have to be wealthy from your mind before you can start to experience wealth physically. At this stage, one must have a correct meaning of wealth. Most people think wealth means the Naira notes and coins we carry about. Wealth is measured from more than six dimensions and unless one appreciates all these, frustrations would come quickly in any investment adventure.

The second "M" has to do with making money.

This indicates specific actions and steps an individual can take to move from poverty or financial crisis to a level where he or she can meet his or her basic needs and beyond. You can work for other people and still be wealthy just as you can be on your own and still acquire lasting wealth. Each of these, however, requires different mind-sets and investment templates. For lasting wealth, the mastery of the correct belief system must take place before learning how to make money can make sense.

The third "M" has to do with managing money.

This indicates where an individual has acquired skills and tips to continually sustain an appreciable level of wealth and comfort commensurate with societal standards. Making money is not necessar- ily hard; the hard est part is ensuring that what you have acquired does not vanish into thin air.

T h e fourth "M"- is multiplying money.

This is the level where an individual makes his money work for him rather than work for money.
At this stage, he also extends the leveraging power of his money, thereby multiplying the end results.

The fifth skill is making money to last.

This is the ultimate in wealth creation where even after the original wealth creator is long gone, the wealth still speaks for him or her and it is generationally t r a n s f e r a b l e .
Most people fail at this stage. There were great men in the past who even had songs composed in their names on account of their sheer wealth but their wealth disappeared with them to the great beyond.

The last and the most vital is making money count.

This means returning part of your money to the source from where it came and allowing yourself to be a channel of blessings to others. Unless you get to a stage where you see yourself as a channel of distribution for God's blessings in your life, you are still largely poor.

a few rules of wealth:

Rule 1: To make money, you must have the capacity to endure.
Don't forget that money has wings and can fly but you must persist until you are able to catch it. Those who give up easily when confronted with ad verse circumstances are really not ready to be wealthy. If you are truly determined to be wealthy, you must see every obstacle as a stepping stone. You must be ready to endure a number of things if you are really determined to be wealthy.

Rule 2: To make money, integrity is vital. You must have a high level of integrity. That means your 'Yes' must be 'Yes' and your 'No' must be 'No'. I once read a book where the author says that if you lose your material possessions no matter how expensive it, you have not lost much as you can easily regain them if you put your mind to it. On the other hand, if you lose integrity, you have lost everything. It is usually difficult to build lasting wealth without integrity. For instance, it has happened many times in the past when I asked for about N1bn, the draft for the money was in my hand long before the bank sent the paper work to me. I am not perfect, but I believe they must have seen something that made them to behave that way. So integrity is key. A man of integrity would always meet helpers on his way to the top.

Rule 3: Hard work is a necessary requirement if you really want to build lasting wealth. You must work more than people around you. If you work for someone else, it means you must stay on your assignment longer than anybody else in your office. Hard work does not kill; it only helps you to discover other gifts you have.
So, you must embrace hard work as a way of life and if you add smartness to it, you would move faster."

Rule 4: Perception is key if you really want to stay long on the journey. Perception means thinking of what could happen in the future and putting things in place now to address that expectation. With perception you can foresee events that could wipe your business out and take steps now to work around them. Most people with perception saw the crisis in the stock market long before they happened and they took steps to protect themselves".

Hello blogville, how have u guys been?? I really know I have missed a lot of actions and stuff which I am not too happy about but it was not my fault at all, I had a lot of things going on for me all at once and all. But seriously I have missed browsing through peoples’ pages and finding gist and then having a laugh about it or something. I have been trying to come back for the last few weeks but my summer school classes are kicking my behind, I am taking four classes this summer although not all of them are crazy tough, there are two of them that are like taking 4 classes at once. But anyways, I would not claim to be fully back but I will try my best to be back to “regular” blogging as much as I can.

A lot of things have transpired in my life that I am not sure if to share it all here or not, I think the best I would do, would be to give as much info as I am very comfortable with because I know some people that know who I am and know my blog but they don’t want to tell me, but I put info and info together and I know they know this is my blog, to those people “ you don’t have to continue to hide, just relate to me on all levels lets talk..lol, it would be much better for all of us”.

But anyways let me start from somewhere, my second semester in grad school which ended in April was tough but I got through it by the grace of God. I was taking like five classes and my grades were excellent to the best of my knowledge, except for one called neuroscience, that was a very interesting class just did not like getting tested on it, I enjoyed the material a lot, maybe because of the fact that it had to do with the human body and that you can prove why this is affected after an insult to a different part of the body, it is so lovely. Ok let me give some non science students some knowledge. Did u know that the brain’s hemisphere controls the contra lateral part of the body? I.e. the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body; although some functions are ipsilateral (same side) most of the major functions are controlled on the opposite side. Isn’t that cool? ….awesome ……God is great. So if you see someone who has a stroke and he or she cannot lift their right extremities (limbs), what part of the brain is affected? Another thing that I enjoyed about the spring semester was that although cold at the beginning it did warm up towards the end of the semester and I am so in love with warm weather you have no idea…

I love my department in school, the teachers are ALWAYS willing to help you get through stuff you do not know and they will always be willing to stay behind to help no matter how bad your brains seems to be dull… not that I am saying I am dull but I remember when I was in UNIversity of LAGos, the lecturers just came to class did not yell over you guys voices, gave three hours lectures by dictating notes and then left and did not want to be disturbed by any students, what ever you did not know or get you have to study it yourself and understand, I now know why God took me away from there, not that my GPA was very terrible just that I know I would have not finished with a first class. God knows why he took me away from that place and the course I was studying, which is for now, to me, irrelevant to the Nigerian community until we seat up, I had a buddy then who is very smart, first class candidate, best in the class finished two years ago and has not gotten a job till now. I know he is getting frustrated and all now, but every time I talk to him, I try my best to console him, but as una know there is very little I can do to appease him. I pray he finds a job that is in God’s plan for his life really soon…AMEN.

Ok in May I took a lovely vacation to the west coast, it was off the chain!!!! I went to see some of my family members (three families) I had never seen before and got to know them a little bit. For the first family, It was very awkward at first but as time went on it became sooo cool, I cannot not explain it, but it ended awkward again because I did not want to leave and they sensed that I did not want to leave too, so you know that kind of, I think implicit atmosphere and all, but I met a lot of new people, Nigerian up coming artists and most of all got to tour the beautiful city of San Francisco. That city is one crazy city, the roads in the main city are like you are going on a rollercoaster, up down, curvy and all. But the thing about it is that it is always cool, no matter what, hot in the day but chilly at night… nice weather. Some of the attractions I got to see were the mighty golden gate bridge, the curviest street in the world (Lombard Street) and so on. Then I had to leave, I went on to another part of the gay state, the main gay city Los Angeles. It was fun riding there, got there and met two more families one very very special family and some more cousins, I felt very special meeting those people and I realized that those people are actually really special to me. Then one night while in my deepest tots, I started to realize that the friends I tot were very special and all to me and were always trying to impose their lives on me, were nothing on a scale of one to ten or even hundred, these people I just met were the people that really mattered, all others were counterfeits. Then I made up my mind to prioritize my priorities and some people were sent down the list some were just cut off completely, I don’t feel bad about it but now I really know the people that matter in my life. Thank God. Blood is thicker than water.

It is not as if I am basing my life on the family members I just met, because they are human they will surely disappoint but every one around me now just has LEVELS…lol. I enjoyed, my two weeks off of school in that state and then came back to school for summer school, which has taken up all my time and all.

I am starting to realize that nobody can love your life for you, so I have gradually started taking initiatives to enjoy my life even while still in school and all. I have started working out everyday either play a sport or just lift weights. I started off loosing some weight, I lost like eight or ten pound then I started to build up, now I have gained six pounds back and it is not fat….I hope, I just cant wait to have the muscle definition at least once in my life, even if it would mean for me to just take the pix, hang it on the wall and become fat, I just want to see my linea alba at least for once…lol

The more I learn about occupational therapy, the more I fall in love with it, it is an AWESOME career choice for anybody who likes to play a lot and have fun. The more I look into it the more I know why God chose it for me, because on my own I would have not been able to pick this career choice out. I would have gone with something like computer science or IT and I would have HATED it because I would have had a routine job which is not just me, with occupational therapy you do not have a routine job, it changes daily except if you choose not to be up to date on your stuff. There are many places you can work at. You could choose to work in the medical field, work with athletes in the sports arena, work with older people, and work with kids and adults with developmental delays and anywhere you think you can advocate for the necessity of occupational based therapy. I love my Job.

God has been good to me, he has blessed me with uncountable blessings, the last time I got a pay check was August last year (2008) and I have been surviving by His grace, doing things I never did while I was working and getting to know him more. Thank You Lord.

Don’t let me make you craze with writings, but I still have a lot to talk about but I will be writing about them as time goes on.

Ok my weekend was nice, kind off
I went to a drive in movie theater to watch Monsters Vs aliens, and it was mad fun, you sit in your car and watch a very big screen while the tune is transmitted to you through your car radio, i loved it and you only pay seven dollars for two movies, also did a few of my school work and still have a lot to do
i have been feeling somehow with my health, i have to squint now to kinda read things that are far away, i wonder if it is because i stay in front of computers too much...hmnn

i have started growing facial hair, and i dont like it, i know i am kinda too old to just start doing that but hey people always say i look sixteen and these facial hair would just change their notion and i dont really like that. i want to look young...like on sunday i went to play tennis in the community park and some high school boys thought that i was their mate, i had to tell them my age before they gave me some respect, but hey i still love my young face.

I have not being very good with my sppiritual life lately, i have slacked a

little bit

nope, a lot actually, i wont say it is anybody's fault but mine, i have just not been up to par not been myself, i would blame it on fatigue from school work and just lack of motivation and all.

A CALL has gone to Federal government of Nigeria to integrate mental health services into Primary Health Care (PHC), even as the nation is being described as the country with the most retrogressive mental health law in the world. The call for integration was made as part of agitation for complete review of the nation’s mental health programme towards improvement of health service to Nigerians.

Making the call in Lagos last week during a mental health stakeholders” meeting at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Prof. Oye Gureje of the Department of Psychiatry, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, noted that there exists a major deficit between the need for mental health service and available resources to address the need. He opined that there may be no improved mental health services in Nigeria, until the National Mental Health Programme and Action Plan promulgated in 1991 is well implemented in addition to availability of essential drugs in primary care clinics and reduction of stigma.

Gureje, who lamented the yawning treatment gap in the management of mental disorders in the country, said result of a large Nigerian study revealed that 90 per cent of all cases of mental illness in Nigeria, obtained no treatment within the last 12 mobnths while in serious cases, 82 per cent had no treatment access. Among those who obtained treatment, only 6 per cent do so withing the first do so in the first year of uillnes while it takes an average of six years for the average mental illness patient in Nigeria to seek and obtain treatment.

“Even though 1 in 12 Nigerians will have a mental illness at any given time, and one or two persons in the nation out of eight will experience a mental illness within their lifetime, the real impact of mental disorders is not because they increase chances of dying, but because they cause considerable disability and impairment of role functioning.”

Gureje noted that, in Nigeria, the average loss in earning in 2002 among persons with serious mental disorders was grossed N21.6 billion amounting to N60,126 per person. He described as “grossly inadequate” the general response to the burden of mental health in the country. “Mental disorders often go unnoticed even though effective treatment is available for most, and when treated, it is often too lateand frequently inappropriate.”

He said a functional PHC, is crucial to any attempt to deliver good health care everywhere. “Primary care providers are poor at detecting mental health problems. Most commonly offer inappropriate or inadequate treatment wghile the primary care clinics hardly have the essential medications for common mental health problems. “ In his view, a lot can still be done with the available resources if only the health service system was better organised.

THERE is currently a ratio of one resident doctor to 2000 patients at the Federal Neu-opsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos. President of the hospital’s branch of the Association of Resident Doctors, Dr. Niran Okewole noted this while lamenting acute shortage of staff in the system just as he noted that the Associaltion’s industrial action embarked upon last week was to ensure quality patient care.
Okewole argued that even though the hospital has a total number of 80,000 registered patients, total number of resident doctors is just 40 leaving a ratio of 2,000 patients per doctor. He said: “Over the years, there has been an exponential increase in the number of patients being seen in the hospital. this in itself is a good thing because it suggests that public awareness of psychiatric services is growing. However, the number of specialist available to attend to this teeming mass has dwindled.”

Mental disorders are common in the United States and internationally. An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. When applied to the 2004 U.S. Census residential population estimate for ages 18 and older, this figure translates to 57.7 million people.Even though mental disorders are widespread in the population, the main burden of illness is concentrated in a much smaller proportion — about 6 percent, or 1 in 17 — who suffer from a serious mental illness.1 In addition, mental disorders are the leading cause of disability in the U.S. and Canada for ages 15-44. Many people suffer from more than one mental disorder at a given time. Nearly half (45 percent) of those with any mental disorder meet criteria for 2 or more disorders, with severity strongly related to comorbidity.

What Occupational therapy has to do with Mental health:

The overall goal of occupational therapy in community mental health is to help people develop the skills and obtain the supports necessary for independent, interdependent, productive living. Particular emphasis is given to interventions that result in improved quality of life and decrease hospitalization.

Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants provide purposeful, goal-oriented activities that teach and facilitate skills in:

assertiveness;
cognition (e.g., problem solving);
independent living including using community resources, home management, time management, management of medication, and safety in the home and community;
avocational interest and pursuits:
self-awareness;
interpersonal and social skills;
stress management;
activities of daily living (e.g.; hygiene);
role development (e.g., parenting);
self-sufficiency and interdependency; and
wellness.

Occupational therapy services include:

adapting (changing) the environment at home, work, and school to promote an individual's optimal functioning
providing education programs, experiential learning, and treatment groups or classes;
consulting with employers responding to requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act;
functional evaluation and ongoing monitoring of clients for placement in jobs and housing;
providing assistance or guidance with client-run support groups;
goal setting and rehabilitation plan development with client; and
providing guidance and consultation to persons in all employment settings, including supportive employment.
Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants working in the area of community mental health are employed by or provide consultation to:

adult day care centers,
day treatment centers,
home health agencies,
community rehabilitation programs,
mental health clinics and hospitals,
clubhouse programs,
outpatient psychiatric clinics,
foster care residents,
sheltered workshops,
group and private homes,
community support programs.

nna mehn, the stress level of school is more than i anticipated and i have just being bugged down with a lot of paper work, practicals and exams. I knew school was demanding but not this much, wow, well i will look to the bright side i have only two and a half semesters left to finish, Praise God, How time flies.

Health sector in the country on Monday, recived a major boost as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation doled out a whopping sum of 50 million dollars to combat the menace of polio.President of the Foundation, who is also widely known for his MicroSoft invention, Bill Gates, announced the donation at a press conference, in Abuja, after a meeting with state governors in the country.

Gates stated that the donation was part of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative of his foundation, said his foundation was desirous to see the Nigerian people free from the bondage of polio.He further stated that the essence of the fund was to ensure the availability of vaccines for immunization and total campaign against the epidemic in the year 2009.

Speaking on the gesture, the Chairman of Governors' Forum and Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, who pointed out that Nigeria was the only country where polio had not been eradicated, said they had now taken the challenge and would be directly involved in the entire processes of polio eradication.

Presenting a communique reached at the end of the meeting, jointly signed by him and the Health Minister, Babatunde Osotimehin, Saraki said the governors had committed themselves to providing active leadership in polio eradication activities at the grassroots, allocating additional financial and human resources to strengthen Primary Health Care so that it could sustain routine immunization and improving the operational quality at the local government levels amongst others.

Governors of the 36 states will today(02/02/2009) meet with the founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Mr. Bill Gates, to seek his assistance in eradicating wild polio virus in the country.

Gates, who through his Foundation, was involved in several interventions in the health sector, is visiting Nigeria to specifically hold high level discussions with government officials and other stakeholders in the health sector on the polio issue.
Director-General of the Governors’ Forum, Mr. Ashishana Okauru, stated these in a statement made available to our correspondent on Sunday in Abuja that the governors would meet with Gates at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel at 2pm.
The governors had after listening to a presentation by the Minister of Health, Prof Babatunde Osotimehin, at their last Governors’ Forum meeting in Abuja, resolved to partner with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that polio was eradicated in Nigeria.
The Gate Foundation had already earmarked about N7.2bn for polio eradication in Nigeria for 2009.

My mother went back to take an exam hours after popping me out. this is so true, my mother was studying for her finals when she went into labor and was rushed to the hospital, she got to the hospital and popped me out and handed me over to my grandma and then went back to study before she took the exam, strong uhhn, yeap i say that too all the time. she did all this in two hours.

I work out alot. False..ha ha you should see me, i see people working out and i am fatigued for them...lol, i have a trim body except for my stomach but i dont work out.

I have crossed Nigerian border by foot before. True yeap i have gone to Benin republic by foot before through cotonou and it was fun. nice memories.

Why do we, when we are depressed say "i feel blue" and also when someone is from a royal family we say "they have blue blood"....something to think about but don't let me "blue" you with that.

Ok, i was going through internet pictures of some buildings in abuja and i was dazed!!!, i was seeing the pictures and just moaning and groaning, if you were in the next room to mine you would have being thinking otherwise...one that moved me and made me bite my pillow was this one.

there were so many images, i just wanted to leave this country and move back to Nigeria, but the amazing thing also was that the images were uploaded in 2007!!! 2 years ago... imagine it now??

There were three men living together in London. An Afro-American, a West Indian and a Nigerian. They were all starving because they didn't have money to buy food. However upon coming close to a posh London restaurant in this classy neighbourhood, they decided to come up with a plan.The Afro-American went in first. After being seated, he ordered a three course meal with white wine. When he had finished the meal, the waiter came by with the bill.

"LISTEN MY MAN, I ALREADY PAID YOU!"

- the Afro-American shouted! The waiter was very confused because he could not remember being paid. But because he did not want to cause any trouble...he let the brother leave.Five minutes later, the West Indian walked into the same restaurant and ordered a five course meal with red wine. When he was finished eating, the waiter came by to collect the money for the food.

Wow it has been tee - ree months since i typed a post on blogville, nna mehn, how time flies. Ok let me start with props...

Merry chrcistmas and Happy new year to all my followers and also people that have dropped by my blog one time or the other. i say congratulations for crossing into a new and beautiful year!!.

Ok last year ended beautiful for me and this year has started wonderful with many more still to come in Jesus name.

How is everybody? i have being off here for a very long time and i felt it too lol.

My weeks have being very busy and mad rush to finish home work and stuff.

ok through out last week i was having emotional battles and i was very affected. i did not want to talk to anyone just wanted to be alone at home not crying but just down. i started to doubt my christian race started to feel like God had forgotten me, i started to question what was in it for me and stuff like that.

imagine i started to think maybe there was no God and maybe i determined my own destiny at that too because i was so below down it was not funny. But i know my redeemer lives.

my account was empty, my debts were piling up and nobody seemed to care, so i wanted to just be alone. wanted to apply for a job but one of my references said something to me that made me just forget it, mad me feel useless. (words to people are very dangerous, be careful how u use them,you dont know where it would hit)

then on saturday, i just looked up and prayed to God to please forgive me for all my sins and help me and not let me die since i had not eaten and the last time i eat was thursday around two pm. then i just felt peaceful and slept off.

By sunday, around twelve (did not go to church, but was watching it online) in the afternoon someone knocked my door and i was thinking of not answering but i just got up and did it anyway, it was my friend. this my friend is in medical school. this my friend has being the person that had always motivated me to be a christian. we prayed every morning together(not in the last one week), go out together and stuff. so the person came by and ask if i wanted to go out to a single's luncheon. and all of a sudden i was excited and i said yes. on our way, the person handed me an envelope and said that was for me. it had MONEY in it. and i asked "wat for"
"oh i tot i should just give it to you" God has blessed me so why not". i was dumbfounded, shocked and almost started crying.

Immediately i was alone i started to apologise to God and thank Him for what he had done again, even though i did not deserve it.

I am very thankful to God for blessing me again, even at the nick of time. His time is always perfect.

Another testimony from 9jaot, God is good and He is alive, dont ever for once ever doubt his existence. He is the greatest father you can ever have.

If you have not given your life to Jesus and u are going through a lot, Try him and see, He is the unchangeable changer. King of Kings, lord of lords.

Masturbation is like "Down syndrome!"

Believers in Christ who masturbate should cry out to God for help!

Why draw a parallel between masturbation and "down syndrome"?

In Romans 7, Paul the Apostle hints of his inability to overcome a particular shortcoming, which he linked to his body. He stated in Romans 7:15-25 that he was compelled to act against his wish, a phenomenon aptly called "the law of sin and death."

Paul cried out for help, asking "who shall deliver me from this body of death?" Even though the word "covet" or "desire", as used in some translations to depict the problem of the apostle of Christ, has no bearing to masturbation, the frustration aired by him, however, is highly suggestive that his problem was "masturbation."

Paul said in Romans 7:15: "For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that I do." - KJV. For better translation, ESV says: For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.

It is my belief that every one who masturbates, especially Christians, can identify with Paul. However, after Paul admitted his inability to overcome the flesh, he went ahead to sound a note of victory in Romans 8:1.

When people masturbate or fall short of what they hold to be God's standard, often times they promise God that such action would not repeat itself, only to fall again and again. They find themselves in a vicious cycle of "rising and falling" with resolves not to fall again. But they soon fall. Some have given up, believing that it is impossible to overcome masturbation; while some are still struggling, thinking that with more efforts, they would overcome.

Overcoming masturbation or any other nagging sin is NOT BY struggling or by resolving not to indulge in it, and neither is it by promising God that the flesh would be crucified. God never asked us to crucify the flesh as many preachers and teachers teach. What the Bible says is that we should mortify the deeds of the body:

"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." - Romans 8:13

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry -" Colossians 3:5

So, how can the believer in Christ be delivered from masturbation?

The process is quite simple, but the journey is painstaking. The hindrance to deliverance is that many people still consider themselves to be good; they think holiness is attained by human efforts and resolution. This is why God allows me to fall over and again until they reach a breaking point. A point where they conclude the following:

1. In me dwells no good thing.

2. No matter how I try, I cannot overcome.

3. For by strength I cannot overcome.

4. Help me Lord to overcome this habit! (No help came)

5. Have mercy on my soul, Lord!

Finally:

6. Thank you Lord for saving me by your Grace; I stop trying to overcome by myself!

Until you arrive at point#6 and stay there, help would remain elusive. Romans 8:1 is Paul's way of victory, yours cannot be different!

It's then that deliverance will come! And do you know the form the deliverance will take? It will start in form of inner strength that seems to be greater than the consequence of falling. Even when you fall, your fellowship with God remains intact! And it's not that God approves of your fallen state - not at all, it is just that with time you will receive GRACE to deny the urge to masturbate.

I know this has being a very controversial issue for some of my friends and also some people i know. i hope this helps and i hope God delivers all of us from any fleshly battle we are encountering. AMEN!!

National University Commission, NUC, has announced that no fewer than 36 private universities operate illegally in Nigeria.
Executive Secretary of NUC Prof. Julius Okojie announced this Wednesday while briefing the media on the commission’s Data Base Project in Abuja.

He said "the universities have not been licensed by the Federal Government and are therefore operating illegally in violation of National Minimum Standards Act CAP E3 Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004," hinting that certificates obtained from those sources would not be recognized for the purposes of National Youth Service Corps, employment and further studies.
He listed some of these universities to include North Central University Oturkpo, Blacksmith University, Awka, Atlanta University Ayingba, Royal University Izhia, University of Industry, Yaba and Leadway University, Ughelli among others.

Prof. Okonji therefore warned that anyone who patronized or obtained certificates from those institutions did so at his own risk, while disclosing that NUC was collaborating with security operatives to apprehend the culprits. He added that enough evidence should be gathered before charging them to court.

He lamented that the proprietors of these universities were amorphous in nature as they kept moving from one city to another when threatened.

Nigeria: Lack of Rehabilitation Increases Disability - Expert

A medical expert and director of Willing Health Advocacy and Training Support (WHATS), Mrs Victoria Amu-Uwakwe has blamed the increase in number of disability and handicapped people in the country on lack of rehabilitation therapy services.
Amu-Uwakwe stated this at the advocacy meeting with Niger State Hospital Management Board and other professionals in health care management.

She maintained that if there was adequate occupational therapy services most cases of impairment would not have resulted in physical handicap where the individual would have to depend on others for existence.

According to her, "occupational therapy services will add more value to medical treatment and it will reduce the level of handicapped individuals in our society."
She lamented that the nation's health care delivery system has suffered several shortfalls, describing the most obvious as that of rehabilitation therapy, which she said had not been given the required attention, partly because of shortage of occupational therapists.
She regretted that Occupational Therapy service is almost non-existent in health institutions in the country.
The WHATS director who lamented that only five health institutions had Occupational Therapy Services out of the 58 health institutions (state hospitals, neuropsychiatry hospitals, university teaching hospitals and Federal Medical Centres) in the country, stated that the facilities in a few places where it was available were obsolete.
She said while most developing countries like Kenya which is smaller than Nigeria produce over 40 occupational therapists annually, the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, which is the only degree awarding institution, would be graduating its first set of six students in the year 2009.

The craze for job has caused many youths to opt for just any job that comes their way rather than asking basic questions like who am I? Am I an introvert or an extrovert? What are my skills? What can I do? What do I really want to do if I have an opportunity to make a choice? Where am I going in life?

Sadly, the economic situation in the country has prevented many young people from pausing to ask the foregoing questions. And parents too are not helping matters. Once a child is born, most parents insist on a path the the child must toe. They do everything they can to create a mental entrapment of the child. Few take into cognizance the child's strength, skills, likes, dislikes, passion, opportunities and so on.

A few parents who observe the rule of studying a child and guiding him or her on the line he or she should take, based on the aforementioned factors are all happier for it and their children too are happy.

I have met many youths who are not really interested in the courses they found themselves doing in tertiary institutions, because such courses are foisted on them by their parents for one reason or the other.

The best way a parent can avoid friction with respect to a child's career direction is to engage the child in counselling. Career counsellors are trained to dig deep into a child's life and ask specific questions as to what the child wants to do with his or her life. Such counselling should be done near the end of the junior secondary classes, just before the child crosses into the senior secondary classes.

Parents and teachers need to make children aware of the various courses they can pursue and what they can do with them. Most youths suffer from what I call "career myopia". They only know about a few courses like Medicine, Pharmacy, Accounting, Law, Computer Science, Petroleum Engineering and other common professional courses. What about courses like Sociology, Psychology, Human Nutrition, Theatre Arts, Music, Agricultural Science, Management, Library Science, Physics, Estate Management, Fashion and Design, and so on? Many of these unpopular courses are key to the economic breakthrough that Nigeria needs at the moment.

I am sorry to say, but these are the courses of the future.
For example, if Nigeria decides to venture into space technology, it will need Physics majors. When our knowledge revolution booms, we will need qualified librarians to oversee the over one million libraries across the country.

It has been proven time and again that the child that pursues his or her heart desire is happier and succeeds earlier than the one who is forced to make a detour later in life to find his or her path.

According to the Associated Press, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, has identified two white supremacists who allegedly plotted to go on a national killing spree, shooting and decapitating black people and targeting Democratic presidential candidate Sen.Barack Obama.

Obama's overwhelming appeal to young voters has often been compared to the Kennedy brothers' mystique. And I think I speak for many voters who have been afraid to think, let alone say, the A word during this election year.

AP is reporting that two neo-Nazi skinheads – Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of Helena-West Helena, Ark. - who planned to kill 88 people, have been charged by federal authorities with possessing an unregistered firearm, conspiring to steal firearms from a federally licensed gun dealer, and threatening a candidate for president.
Both men are being held without bond. They had a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and three pistols when they were arrested.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, told AP that authorities took the threats very seriously.
"They said that would be their last, final act — that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying." adapted from LAtimes.

weekend

This weekend has being kind of boring for me and i am trying to force myself to read but i have just not sat down to focus yet. GOD HELP ME!!!

Ok i had this friend that went to naija to get married. she had been dating the guy for about four years and he never kissed her or even touched her body in a sexual way. I mean they hugged cuddled but no Bobbie touching or kissing (tough right?) but the lady is an accountant and the guy a therapist. This mi friend took 4 weeks off of work just for the wedding and spent two weeks planning for the wedding in Nigeria with the help of her mother, sister and cousins and the remaining two weeks alone. the wedding was a blast and she kissed her husband for the first time when they said "you may kiss the bride". and she said it was lovely. they left Nigeria the Monday after wedding and arrived Yankee on Tuesday morning, by Wednesday evening, the couple left they city of residence and traveled to Florida for the usual honey moon. she gave me permission to post this so i ain't infringing.
ok that night they got to Florida the husband told her he wanted to visit an adult store, but because she had never visited one before she went with him. when they got there, he got a book called kamasutra 365 and a deluxe pack of rain coats, she was thinking that "i know this guy would take it easy with me sha".
so they got to their hotel room, on Wednesday night and did not leave until Sunday morning, where she said the transformation of her life began. after he plucked the flower, he gave her like 2 hours to heal then it all began. she did not go into details but said by Saturday night they were on number 204, and she was too ashamed to open the door and give the cleaners the trash because it was practically filled with raincoats. she said that even when she was cooking, she wasn't spared. I WAS JUST LAUGHING , REAL HARD!!!!
The honey moon is over now but she said her life would never be the same again. and that she enjoyed every minute of it and wish it never ended. Wish them happy married life!!

the weather is getting cold and i hope people have started to wash their cold gears from last year o o. i hope it doesn't get too cold this year.

America is having the most historic election ever in it's history!! i urge pple that can vote to go vote so that they can make history. i used to lean to one person's side but now i am in the middle, even after the last debate which made a man a celebrity over night!! lol, i still cannot decide. I know God will prevail tho.

NNA my people, ndo ewo. how una dey. i have been out for a very long time, i know. i was having midterms all this weeka dn it has not being easy but i thank God sha.

How una week dey? well apart from the test my week went very fast. i enjoyed it.

This is exactly how i have been feeling since i left Nigeria, i have not had any real friends that has stood the real test with me, they are either too selfish o they become too jealous when i try to help others too.

Ok let me describe myself a little, i like to go out of my way sometimes to help people no matter what it costs, most times i am always on the loosing end but it is ok as long as they are happy. I love to make friends with new people because i know knowledge, apart from God and bible , comes from people, so i try to be as friendly as i can be.
don't get me wrong i dont try to plaese everybody, because if i do i am offending God. I just try my best, i have had friends leave me because they have jealousy in them because"i am too kind".

Or wait maybe it is me that has the issues??? hmnmmn... but is it wrong to be nice?
or maybe it is because i am the type that likes to be told the truth all the time, even if my breath stinks: TELL ME!! and maybe i have being too harsh on some of them by telling them how i feel about something they just did and they not liking it.

I have had a friend that we have being very close since kindergaten and even though we are like five thousand two hundred and forty four plus miles away from each other we are still very close. i can call the person today and we would catch up on so many things, i have made friends also along my educational line that i have also added to my friends list and we all talk. i use the trees as a meaphor of me and my friends in nigeria, we can reach and communicate over a plot of land (issues) but we cant touch...hmnn

so now i am wondering is finding good friends in yankee that tough or is it just me?? everybody is all about themselves, money and only call you when they need your help.

sometimes i call people to just say hi and they think i need something from them, or they just want to end the call the moment they say hello. and trust me i am not a stalker because i dont like being turned down, so i can be friends with you for like weeks and not have your number because i want it to be mutual and not a right for me to have it.

ok let me give you some examples:

this girl, we worked together thru the semester, me helping her and vice versa. two weeks after the semester ended i just called to say hello and after like 2 rings it went to Vmail, and because i did not expect that i hung up and then dialed it again just to leave a Vmail, then her boifriend picked it up:

BF: hello

9jaot: hi can i be on to .....

BF: who is this?

9jaot: it is me ......

BF: she doesn't want to talk to you anymore (she was gigling in the back).

i just deleted her number str8, wat insult.

i have had so many like this that we work together thru the semester and after that they tell u not to call them again. WOW, such is life!!

but i have had one great american friend that we have been thru thick and thin and we are still friends till today, it is like pinky and the brain kind of friendship, one tall one short, one thin one fatty and so on LOL but it ends every semester and picks up the next. but right now we are no longer in the same school, the person even plans to come to my school, that is how close we are.

so many stories. even naija people are not very diferent, some want you just for sex and others for benefits. That is not what life is about, *sobs*

ok tomorow i have a test so i should be studying now but guess what!!!! yeah u got it right.

ok today i am looking forward to have a break from school this weekend and refresh my brain but guess what? i have so many assignments and so many stuff to do, i would just have to push my rest till later.

Now i am just typing as it comes to my head so bear with me. i heard that our great basketmouth just bought a house in the Victoris island district of Lagos, and it was reportedly worth one hundred million naira, after he got a globacom endorsement, when asked if it was true, he just cracked a joke and waived the question stylishly, smart uhhnn? i like him jare, i hope it is true because that ,means he has being "doing good" lol. i love his comedy shows and would go to one when i go to naija, the one i recently saw was this.

Ok my week started good and i have been up all night trying to veiw blogs.....OMG there are so many naija blogs out there it is not even funny, so many gbeboruns(gossips) and so many to even categorize from the 18+ to the SU's, just too numerous. God dey.

Ok now over the weekend i have being throwing up and scratching all over my body because of a picture i saw on nairaland, it is a disgusting pix, i dont care if it was photoshoped or not, they should think of ajebutters like me when making things like this, i have being freaking out even when i think of it. i mean that is somebody's body.

School has being going on great and loving it too, hope you all scholars can say the same thing. Making you parents choose you career for you is so ninteen forties, dont let them make u unhappy because they are paying your fees, focus on you. please ehn.

I know i have been away for a while now, i was trying to gather information for my blog and also focus on school work.

As you have being reading from my other posts, i am really focused, by the grace of God, on the change of the health care system and mentality in Nigeria. so i have being looking into health journals and health reports from the people that have dispensability to the real facts about Nigerian health sector. I am still working on it and would still need to pray alot i know. Please pray for me as you remember.

one question: how many of you can name you Great grand father and mother?

The bible says that sins our fourth generation past fathers commited are what we are paying for now, so why dont we focus on making Nigeria a better place for people that might not even know our names but are in our line of generations, by doing the right thing , even while we can.

Also i went to church today, after so long of watching it online because i was not sure of the church God wants me in, although i am still not sure, but thank God sha.

the sermon today was on Serenity prayer, which states:

God grant me the

serenity to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and

wisdom to know the difference.

This has being a prayer that i always over looked or just said it without thinking, but the sermon got me thinking today, it is a prayer every body really needs. I pray God reveals it to us all.

My week was ok. being really fatigued lately without doing anything, i have prayed about it and i know God will help me. hope all of you had a great week and have a blessed week ahead.

Friday, another end of the week, got to fixing my room and actually did some good things today in the abscence of classes. felt so much better from days before. Glory be to God.

Going to talk about some Nigerian news. first

The third mainland bridge which has being closed for the past 2 months would be reopened on sunday, september 28 at 12 midnight. The Minister of Transportation, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, who disclosed this at a press briefing on Friday in Abuja , put the total contract sum for the rehabilitation of the Third Mainland bridge at N762 million. CRAZY!! the bridge was closed down because some of the expansion points of the structure were loosing their integrity. she said the other aspects of the bridge would be looked into within the next one year to do more work, and urged lagosians to be cooperative. She also apologized to Lagosians for the disruption and inconviniences the last two months might have been to them.

I guess lagos will got its grove back now

A lagos based radio station, Coolfm might just loose all its fan base. becasue the last month has not being very cool for them, they lost three of their most influencial and fan attracting people, Olisa Adibua, Dan Foster and Chris ubosi. Dan who has being the heart of the morning ride to work for a few years now, was said to have being offered another job as the Head of Programmes at Inspiration FM, a new Lagos-based radio station reportedly owned by Intercontinental Bank's Erastus Akingbola. I guess he accepted their offer.

The Nigerian singer Rymzo was shot on his way to abuja on the 18th of september. The dancehall king was shot in his right arm after his ride was attacked by robbers in benin. " i am still in a shock of disbelief" he said. he is recovering and receiving treatment from an undisclosed clinic in benin.

I wish him safe and fast recovery.

I heard from a source that Sean Kingston might be in Ogun state this independence season.

Finally, Kemistry of Rhythm Fm also quit and moved on to inspiration fm. I guess the radio station is taking over Big time, with all these employment of the industry's shakers and movers. Fingers crossed, lets see what they have to show for it.

Woke up today at a few minuutes to eight, and then looked around the room, "what happened, what has been going on in my room?...am i loosing my mind, everywhere is a mess and even my small kitchen has dishes all over the place!!"

Has the week been that stressful or am i just being very lazy now? i mean my room was until last week the envy of my friends that they all wanted to come live with me, because it was too neat.!!!

Am i hitting quarter life crisis? but wait that would be too freaking early....hmmnn i still have years to go, even if it was, are these the symptoms? so many tots ...

my school week ended today, so i am going shopping with the little money i got from an uncle and also lay down a little afterwards to calm my brain. The whole week was nice, got to be motivated by some friends to continue a work out plan.

The devil tried so many times this week but i would only say he was able to get me once, but i would not let that one time over power me as "He that is in me is Greater than he that is in the world". So get thee behind me satan!!!

God please forgive me and continue to make me stronger than my temptations. AMEN

Sad day for Nigerian broadcasters as they lost one of their ogbontarigis (significant figures) to cancer. Olayinka Babasanya Craig, as he is officially known lost his months long battle with cancer in Mayo clinic, Rochester Minnesota. the battle which lasted about two years did not, until his death affect his jovial persona or his love for sports.

He was a pioneer radio and television broadcaster, sports journalist extraordinaire and a national icon. He was one of Nigeria's foremost broadcasters and he worked with Nigerian Television authority. Earlier this year the Lagos state Government gave his family, fifteen million naira (one hundred and fifty thousand dollars) to aide the payment for the stem cell transplant he came for in the USA.

he is survived by his wife, Dr Kehinde, his sons, Dr. Olamide, Mr. Olayinka and a daughter, Temilola.

I guess God's timing is always best. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

What a day!

Woke up at eight am after hitting the snooze on my alarm like a million times. ok got up and noticed that my right arm was seriously hurting from trying to give blood yesterday and and also my tummy was hurting from a gym abs class i had a day before, which i need as my tummy is like that of a pregnant woman. all i needed was to take some medicine but i couldn't because i had a spiritual plan for the day....painful.

Class was kind of fun, got to class early, my first lecture was from a lecturer who taught foundations of occupational therapy and was always sacarstic, so i was able to laugh over the pain a little and while laughing, i was feeling the pains in my tummy. went back to my room after my last class and had a great nap after taking some pain killers and woke up great only to get back to assignmens and stuff.

I have something bothering me, is it wrong for a woman to be head of a congregation? if you have an answer just post a comment please. Thanks God bless.

My class is a very funny one. did i ever mention that i am the only opposite sex in the class of forty people. which to me is very advantageous and could be vice versa also. i have to beg to be heard as i am the weaker sex....Gosh LOL

Ok my classes are going on well, getting some understanding by the grace of God, although still having some level of distinction problems, as in language of graduate school and scheme of work.

My first two tests have been good and still woking on improving, my other grade options have been maximized and i noticed that those other ones even count more than the tests. I got a place close to home for my First field work and i pray i continue to be favoured by God like this.

If you are reading this and you have not given your life to Jesus i suggest you do so, so me and you can have things in common and also share more testimonies.

Ok, now i have to go back to studying and try to accomplish some things tonite.

So i went home and was very grateful to God.

For the next two days, i was expecting my letter of admission from the school but nothing came in the mail. I then woke up on friday and headed back to the school, with gas prices so high i just had to risk a full tank of gas. Got there and went into the admission office, where i met the "helper" and he said he has been meaning to call me for two day that i needed to bring my transcript from the college i went to in naija before he could accept me.

Wow two days, i thought, and classes start on monday???

I told him i cannot get the transcript in 2 days from naija. and then he said "i cannot help you then".

I almost started crying, but i thought "i serve a living God and he has the hearts of kings and queens in his hands, God please make me laugh out of here".

so i went out side and prayed and he answered before i came back, a company that evaluates international results had my result from the college and he, "the helper' called them and they faxed it over to him. i was very happy and this happened (shocking).

OT; thank God

Helper: "Who is God, He has nothing to do with this, i did this..."

OT: (farted in his pants and thought "what did he just say") "thank you helper, thank God too."

Still astonished by what he had just said, left the office to go outside and thank God.
by this time my time piece was saying 5.30 pm and i had a prayer meeting to lead in church for 7.00 pm.. "How would i do that without gettin a ticket"??? God dey

As i stormed back into the office to see what was happening, the helper reluctantly gave me a paper to sign and he said that was my admission letter. thanked him again and then stormed out of the office to be on my way.

Headed back to town and get to the prayer meeting just in time to meet the grace (end of the prayer session),

Thank God for a Great day in his presence and knowing he still loves me.

Family day

Today was family day in my school. A day when we as aspiring occupational therapists bring our families to school for them to see us take the occupational therapist creed and also bring a special someone to put on the occupational therapist badge on our chests.

Another feature of the day is poster presentation where we make posters to show to our families about areas in which occupational therapists can work examples are acute care, low vision clinics school systems and so on.

"...... don't worry they will get a good job right out of school and make good money..." those were the words of my department chair, which brought a lot of relieve to parents as they started clapping and cheering. That brought me to thinking, is going to school all about making money and not happiness or what God called you to do, to these people or just a form of relieve since most people don't know what occuaptional therapists do and job chances?? hmnn... i guess i would know the answer someday.

I am loving my Career choice already, I know by the grace of God i would not dislike where i would work or who i would work with because i have hope in Jeremiah 29:11
